Be Still...

I have had so much going on spiritually lately, I don't even know where to begin. I just have had this overwhelming sense to get it out, write it because I write better than I speak. I also have a terrible sinus infection, and there's a strong possibility that God is working thru the steroid shot that I had earlier today.  I know this is my photography blog, but I don't really know where else to share this message that has been placed on my heart.

Rock the South - Day #1

I had the opportunity to freelance with a local paper, Cullman Sense, this weekend for the annual Rock the South music festival, hosted by Sara Evans. I was lucky enough to capture this awesome shots of Scotty Mcreery, Sarah Evans, and The Band Perry on Day #1 of the Festival. For my fellow photog friends and followers, I will be posting an informational post later on with the settings I used to get this images. For now, enjoy scenes from Day 1!

Skylar & Josh's Engagement

I was so excited about this shoot! Skylar's property is gorgeous! I'd love to buy a huge field to use just for photography.... Here are a few of my faves from their sweet shoot.

I love this first picture! What you can't tell from the shot is that I am laying in the road for this angle. You also can't see the car that is coming around the corner directly at me. Neither can you see the panic in our faces as we run and grab all the props before the car hits us all! LOL

The Challenge of Web Hosting

This post is geared mainly toward my fellow photographers. I hope that, through this post, I can save any other newbies out there the time and struggle I put in to this research.

I had reached a point in my business where I wanted to offer prints to my clients. In order to do this, I needed a good website where clients could view their proofs. I began looking at various web hosting out there for photographers. There are some really awesome hosting plans out there that offer a lot. There are some all-in-ones, where you can have your website, domain, hosting, client proofing, and storefront all through one location. This is the easiest option out there, but really expensive if you are just starting out. Me, being new, not making a lot of money, this was NOT an option for me. 

An insite, how I developed my brand...

I normally don't write a lot of posts, this main purpose of my blog is to simply share my work. However, I felt a strong need to share my recent (nearly year long) struggle with developing my website and business to the point where I am (somewhat) satisfied. I thought maybe, if I shared some of my experiences up to this point, that it might save someone else a little time and research. This post will tell you a little bit about how I started, came up with pricing, and developed my website. I should also note, that while developing this business, I am full time Christian wife, mommy, and teacher. Yes, I work full time on top of this :)

Clients, feel free to read this post as well. This can give you a little insite as to why I went the route I did, why I offer what I do, and why my prices are what they are. I think it will also show you why I choose quality over quantity. Clients - thank you for helping me get this far!

Oh what fun I had with this shoot! It had rained non-stop the week before, so we squeezed everything under the carport so we didn't get muddy. And it was so cold that day!
